Rythmic Overture & Victorious Concerto

rovc_abilitydescription.jpg

This AA allocation in the Bard AA tab, SF endline, actually provides two abilities:
Rhythmic Overture (AA Hostile spell)
Victorious Concerto (AA Beneficial group spell)

First, Rythmic Overuture (RO) is cast to record only the Dirge's damage output for 10 seconds.

RO only records primary autoattack damage, secondary autottack damage, initial combat art damage, initial spell damage, and diety ability inital damage.

RO does not record damage ticks, item triggered damage, class triggered damage, double autoattacks, area of effect damage, flurry autoattack damage, nor spell double attack damage.

Once Rythmic Overture (RO) 10 second recording expires, a new icon appears in the Spell Effect window, called Intermission. Intermission starts a 90 second count down timer. If the Intermission timer expires, then the Rythmic Overture recording is erased.

Only attribute buffs, base damage buffs, casting speed buffs, recovery speed buffs, and recast speed buffs aid the Dirge with their RO record. To give your group members the best Victorious Concerto damage output, then coordinate with the appropriate classes in your group.

If the Dirge do not have a recast speed buff, then the Dirge may only record one Daro's Dull Blade within a RO 10 second duration. With a recast speed buff, then two Daro's Dull Blade can be recorded within a RO 10 second duration.

Only 5 autoattacks, with a 2.4~2.5 second weapon delay, can be recorded within a RO 10 second duration.

Cast a \aITEM 684938096 -217585375:Quel'ule Cocktail\/a and Cacophony of Blades, if not activated, prior to a RO recording.

I would cast RO when the Dirge is outputing the most damage so this means only cast burst damage abilities. So, the best time to cast RO is near the begining of an encounter, after debuffs have affected the enemy, or wait for the Dirge's ability damage recast timers line up in an appropriate sequence.

Cast RO when it will slightly delay an autoattack so that RO will record the maximum number of autoattacks.

A Rythmic Overture Recording with recast, recovery, and casting speed buffed:
(assuming Sinister Strike and Incinerate is available, 100% casting speed, 65% recovery, 33% recast)

<casting RO to slightly delay autoattack>
-autoattack-
Daro's Dull Blade
Sinister Strike
Vanishing Act
Misfortune Kiss
-autoattack-
Evasive Maneuvers
Bump
Scream of Death
-autoattack-
Incinerate (Solusek Ro's Miracle)
Darksong Blade
Howl of Death
-autoattack-
Tarven's Crippling Crescendo
Thuri's Doleful Thrust
Daro's Dull Blade
-autoattack-
<RO ends>

Victorious Concierto should be cast instantly after the end of the RO recording. This is to ensure all of the temporary buffs are still utilized by group members to output the maximum number of Victorious Concierto triggers.

Remember, speed buffs determines how well you will fill the autoattack window. Hopefuly, you will have a rather quick weapon delay to get more autoattack damage recorded. Unfortunately, button lag can make the damage output of Victorious Concerto quite terrible.
