Calculate and itemize the in-game examine description damage. Then, update the list after a period of time with item acquisitions. To become even more fine tuned, create multiple case scenarios that include various temporary in-combat damage reactives from other character classes in your decision making.

Ludas Nefarious Wail (.88s) 3691~5805
Evasive Maneuvers (.74s) 2935~4143
10,959~16,824
Numbers above obtained from t9_SF_30may2010 data.

This case scenario is quite interesting in how it portrays the difference between the previous expansion, TSO, and the recent expansion SF. SF introduced to Dirges with a 32% recovery buff on their Allegro and an AA upgrade to Ludas Nefarious Wail that caps its casting speed and adding 10% base damage.

I believe there is a case scenario supporting the EDD casting routine itemization, but I have not found it yet or I have not set aside a proper amount of time to find it. My advice is to know your abilities inside and out just in case you do encounter a case scenario when an EDD casting routine itemization is better than the DR casting routine itemization.
